Gifts for the Young At Heart

Gifts for the Young At Heart

Teens can be notoriously tricky when gifting, especially when you want to keep it local…which is really interesting because the young at heart adults are super easy to choose for!

We’re so lucky to have a bunch of awesome businesses offering perfect gifts for teens, young adults and the fun adults.

Lala’s Makeup - by Lauren

Lauren has been in the business of making women feel beautiful forever, she specialises in wedding and special occasion makeup, teaches makeup workshops and (thanks to covid) now even offers her own makeup products. After spending years and years in the bridal industry she knew exactly what works, and what doesn’t she’s combined her knowledge and her lived experience to create an amazing range of products that are cruelty free, 24hr wear and perfectly suited to our completely whack humid climate.

You can find Lala’s Makeup- by Lauren on Instagram or grab a voucher from her online store and let your lucky recipient choose their own perfect products or book a session for themselves.

Breakout

Tucked in between Price Busters and The Salvos on Redcliffe parade is a small door, that leads to a flight of stairs…and it’s the perfect spot for an escape room! Breakout opened about a month ago and so far about 30 groups have taken the challenge.

Currently there is one escape room “The Bunker” a Cold War/military themed challenge, the second room, “The House In The Woods” which will be a scarier theme, is on it’s way.  They operate Friday Saturday and Sunday, but can take private booking at other times also.  I think it would be a great idea for a birthday party, or maybe even challenge the family as an alternative to the usual family Christmas get together! Although if you’re the type of family that ends up fighting, throwing the cricket wickets about the place and making snarky comments about Aunt May’s trifle…it’s probably not a great idea.

Better yet, just grab a gift voucher so your teen/young at heart can choose with who, and when they want to go.

There website had all the details, and you can book or purchase a gift voucher online too.

Ride Electric

I’m sure there’s few better feelings than zooming along with a breeze in your hair…or breeze in your helmet I suppose.

Ride Electric has just moved into a bigger space on Sutton’s street in a bright green building, which is great because they are chock full of everything you need to “ride electric”.  E-scooters, e-bikes, e-skateboards or my personal favourite, e-trikes.  They have lights and locks, safety gear and helmets, stands and pedals…everything you could need to be kitted up properly.

If buying an electric ride isn’t in Santa’s budget this year, you can also hire! They offer Zero 10 Scooters, Riptide E-Bikes and Electric DC Trikes for hire and almost anyone can have a go! For around $30 an hour it’s a great way to spend some time checking out the peninsula.

Check out their website or pop in store for more info
